Technical assistance in the establishment of a baseline of employment in Rwanda's export-oriented agricultural value chain

The global objective is to Support the Government of Rwanda in its efforts to increase the contribution of export oriented agricultural value chains to the country's poverty reduction, economic and export growth targets Activities: Analyzing and estimating the distribution of employment within and between various levels of Rwanda's traditional export-oriented agricultural value chains. Analyzing and estimating the distribution of employment within and between various levels of Rwanda's non-traditional export-oriented agricultural value chains Analyzing the dynamics of employment within and along the above mentioned value chains and inclusion of women, youth, poor and disadvantaged groups Analyzing the potential impact of different value chain governance and value chain upgrading strategies on the employment distribution of Rwanda's export-oriented agricultural value chains. Defining the baseline for the employment in the value chains analyzed and a methodology for monitoring progress in subsequent years The outputs: Work-plan and methodology. (Inception Report) Survey design and methodology for the Baseline Survey (Intermediate Report) and for monitoring progress in subsequent years. Data collection instruments / questionnaires for the Baseline Survey (Intermediate Report). Monthly progress reports on the implementation of the Baseline Survey. Employment assessment of the Coffee value chain (Final Report). Employment assessment of the Tea value chain (Final Report). Employment assessment of the Pyrethrum value chain (Final Report). Employment assessment for selected non-traditional value chains (Final Report). Synthesis report. Electronic database of the collected data. Guidance note for short-term, mid-term and long-term actions, covering issues of policy, strategy, annual planning and budgeting.
