Monitoring missions for the social protection support programme in Morocco

The social protection support programme in Morocco, which is the subject of this monitoring project, was signed on 11 December 2017. The EU's contribution to the programme is EUR 100 million, of which EUR 90 million is budget support and EUR 10 million is complementary support. The support programme is implemented over 60 months, and aims to achieve the following objectives: 1. The establishment of an integrated and unified Social Protection policy allowing its monitoring, rationalisation and financial and operational planning and its overall development in accordance with the expected sectoral results, 2. The extension of the CMB to all socio-professional categories of the Moroccan population and the improvement of the coverage of the underprivileged populations, on the way to a universal medical coverage, 3. The controlled development of social assistance by improving the targeting of populations in precarious situations and the progressive development of direct aid to populations in precarious situations, 4. The development of social services by accredited social centres (Social Protection Establishments / Etablissements de Protection Sociale - EPS) according to quality criteria and controlled service standards and qualified personnel, throughout the country. This project aims to Ensure regular monitoring of the implementation of the "Support to Social Protection in Morocco" programme; Verify the conditions and measures relating to the disbursement of the different tranches of the programme's budget support. Support the sectoral dialogue in place with all stakeholders in the sector (Moroccan institutions and donors).
