FACILITY TO SUPPORT THE BLUE ECONOMY AGENDA IN MOZAMBIQUE

A Blue Economy Working Group (BE-WG) gathering major Development and Cooperation Partners (DCP) was created in 2022 in Mozambique. The BE WG will operate as is the technical dialogue platform between development partners and the Government of Mozambique, reflecting the increasing interest by both bilateral and international donor agencies in supporting the blue economy in Mozambique with various ongoing and planned initiatives and a recognition of the need for better information sharing and coordination. The objective of the Blue Economy Working Group is to provide a platform for coordination, strategic discussion and information amongst actors involved in sustainable blue economy development in order to maximize impact and contribute to national and international commitments. The objective of this project is to "provide technical and support assistance to the donor coordination in Mozambique and to the EU Delegation to Mozambique in support of an enhanced strategic and operational dialogue in the area of Blue economic development and decision-making". It operates under two main components: Component 1: Ensuring the secretariat of the Blue Economy Donor Working Group in Mozambique, so that it fulfils its mandate and objectives of improved coordination, policy dialogue and information exchange. A Key expert is carrying out all working group secretariat tasks (facilitation of meetings, organisation of policy dialogue events, institutional strengthening of the WG, communication etc). Component 2: Advisory services, for the development of policy, and operational recommendations in support of a strategic and operational dialogue to strengthen blue economic development and decision-making process in Mozambique. A total of 180 days of non-key experts are available to carry out a variety of assignments (studies, trainings, etc.) on all thematic aspects of Blue Economy.
