Critical Raw Materials Strategy - Namibia
The project consists in the formulation of the National Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Strategy of Namibia, aiming to establish an integrated framework for the sustainable development of this strategic sector.
In a context characterised by significant mining potential (uranium, lithium, rare earths, graphite, etc.) and strong industrialisation ambitions under national frameworks (Vision 2030, NDP6), the action supports the country in transforming its economic model by strengthening local value addition, economic diversification, and integration into global value chains linked to the green transition.
The overall objective is to contribute to an inclusive and sustainable socio-economic transformation through the development of a competitive and responsible CRM sector.
The specific objective is to formulate a comprehensive National CRM Strategy, accompanied by an implementation plan, covering policy, regulatory, institutional, economic, and environmental dimensions, and aligned with international, regional, and European standards.
